Notes | Retired as Superintendent, Scotland Yard January 1 1902. Was responsible for the setting up of the Metropolitan Police Criime Museum (the Black Museum), in order to provide a training and identification opportunity for new recruits. Shot himself during the process of an investigation into actions while with the Yard. Living with his 1st wife Charlotte Joly in Lambeth in the 1871 census. Living with his second wife, Margaret Maud, 128 Brixton Road Lambeth in the 1881 census. Living with his 3rd wife, Ada Ellen Neame in Lambeth in the 1901 census. |
