Notes | NEWPAPER OBITUARY. A man was killed when a front loader he wasdriving at Waitawheta got out of contol and overtunedon theafternoon of Wednesday, Sept. 14. He was Mr. Eric LionelFrewin, aged 50 of Union St. Waihi. Mr. Frewin was bringing thefront loader from the Waihi quarry to Waitawheta about 3.40.m.to enable minor repairs to be done to it. It got out of contoland capsized, coming to rest on the left hand side. The backwheel crushed Mr. Fresin's head. An inquest was opened beforethe coroner, Mr. J. Moorhead, when evidence of identificationwas given by Mr. John Savage, a quarry worker, who saw part ofthe accident, noticing the loader going down-hill at a highspeed and apparently out of control. The inquest was adjournedSunday. Mr. Frewin was married and had six children. As wellas a large number of the public, there were many members of theBuffaloes Lodge at the funeral of Mr. E.L. Frewin at Waihi. Mr.Frewin was a member of both the Waihi Lodge and the ElizabethLodge (Waikono) of sthe Buffalo order. He was killed in anaccident when driving a front loader from a quarry atWaitawheta. The Buffalo service was conducted by Knight S.Balfour, Deputy Funeral Mastger of the Bay of Plenty ProvincialGrand Lodge. Pall bearers were Messrs. J. Steiner, M. Ryan andMoses, members of sthe Buffalo lodge, and Messrs. J. Savage andS. Pemberthy. | |
