Alice Lambert Neame was widowed in 1894, at the age of 43. In 1902 she remarried, giving her age as 40! At this point her oldest child was 29!. Her second husband was Charles George Landseer Judge, who was actually 41. When Alice died in 1905, he gave her age as 48. No doubt she had begun to correct her 'small inaccuracy'!.Four years later, Charles Judge married Alice's daughter, Ella Emily, but none of their children ever knew that their father was also their step-grandfather! |
